Death isn't an unusual subject for a heavy metal video, but not in the way it's handled in this poignant and cinematic video by McFarland & Pecci for Killswitch Engage.
Directors McFarland & Pecci channel Tarantino as they teach Boston hip-hop duo 7L and Esoteric that joining forces with Wu-Tang rapper Inspectah Deck for the collabo project Czarface means engaging in some risky business. In the end, they learn an important lesson: Just because you decide not to take part in the killing, doesn't mean you won't be in charge of the cleaning. And the cleaning is the messier part.
Jacob Bannon is the lead singer of MA hardcore band Converge. He's also an accomplished visual artist and the head of an independent label. And, he's one hell of an intense and interesting guy, perfectly captured in video directors McFarland & Pecci's intimate mini-doc that manages a neat trick: Bannon looms larger than life, yet he's seemingly right there with you.
