IN MEMORY: Peter Christopherson, director

Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson passed away last week. Although best known as a member of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, Sleazy also directed an impressive array of music videos.

A remembrance from Sheira Rees-Davies of Hello:

"Still grieving the loss of Peter Christopherson aka Sleazy. It was a great honor to work with such a kind creative beautiful soul for so many years. I hope you find peace with your partner John Balance. You were an inspiration to many as a former member of Hipgnosis design team, designing some of the most iconic album covers of Pink Floyd and Peter Gabriel, to co-founding the bands Coil, Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV. He was a writer, producer, remixer, artist and talented video director.

Peter directed well over 50 videos, including Rage Against the Machine "Bulls On Parade" and "Bombtrack," as well as videos for Nine inch Nails "Broken," "Wish" and "March of the Pigs." He also directed videos for The Crystal Method, Filter, Robert Plant, Joseph Arthur, Van Halen, Paul McCartney, Erasure, The The, Sepultura and Rollins Band.

Peter’s Christopherson’s book of condolences and letters can be left at  www.unklesleazy.tv"

See below for a select list of videos and links (note: Unfortuantely, very few of his videos are available online in official and high-quality versions.)

PS: For the record, I still reference "March Of The Pigs" as an example of how good, yet simple a performance video can be...
