PUP’s New Video Is an Immersive, Choose-Your-Own Adventure Video Game
"28 WAYS TO DIE. 16 ALIENS. 10+ BEERS. 4 WAYS FOR PUP TO SURVIVE.”
the video for “Old Wounds” — directed, as usual, by Jeremy Schaulin-Rioux — is an interactive, choose-your-own-adventure style video game where you play as PUP’s tour manager and have to get them back to their hotel safely after a sold-out show. It’s harder than it sounds, and it usually involves the members of PUP dying horribly. On Twitter, PUP sums up the appeal: “28 WAYS TO DIE. 16 ALIENS. 10+ BEERS. 4 WAYS FOR PUP TO SURVIVE.”
Actor Finn Wolfhard — aka Mike Wheeler of Stranger Things — reprises his role from Pup's "Guilt Trip" video in this sequel of sorts that focuses on the band's pup (in addition to the band Pup).
New record, "THE DREAM IS OVER" out May 27, 2016 via SideOneDummy & Royal Mountain Records.

Touring videos are about as common as your mother’s disapproving clucks, so it’s good to see someone put some quality animation on what is a v. common thing. For “Dark Days,” the Toronto band PUP hired Chandler & Jeremy and Solis Animation to do the anime thing, and they've come up with the best animated video since DyE’s “Fantasy," in my opinion.
How do you treat the one you love when you're clearly on your proverbial last lap around the track? If you're PUP, you smash the shit out if it. Meet "Mabu," a beloved car that gets stripped down into a battering beast and entered into a Demolition Derby.
PS: No turtles or lizards were injured in the making of this video. Mabu was, unfortunately, not so lucky.
