Not just a cute couple alert, but a cute quarter in this remake of "It Takes Two" for a branded Target clip: Carly Rae Jepsen, Lil Yachty, director Roman Coppola and choreographer Mandy Moore (no relation, kids), whose resume includes La La Land and Dancing With The Stars.
This previously unreleased Beastie Boys video — essentially a compilation of various clips, including a the band's last ever live show, which took place at Bonarroo 2009 — was apparently lurking online for many years before a hardcore Beasties fan named Eoin McLernon found it via some credit digging that eventually lead to an unlisted version of the video.
An unexpected release, but hopefully one that inspires future (and official) digging into the Beastie archives...
The stars came out for the Arcade Fire TV special that aired immediately after the band's Satruday Night Live premiere and is now streaming online via The Creators Project @ YouTube. James Franco, Ben Stiller, Bono, Aziz Ansasri, Eric Wareheim, Bill Hader, Zach Galafianakis and Michael Cera all make cameos in a sort-of late night variety show that's funnier, weirder and less serious than you might expect.
Not many bands have the clout to get something this iconoclastic on broadcast TV, but even fewer have the balls to take this kind of risk.
