Hombre bueno (a good man) is the first single of the third album of Depedro, La increíble historia de un hombre bueno (The incredible story of a good man). Jairo Zavala, the visible face of Depedro, has seen his song conceptualized into the screen thanks to the director Paloma Zapata (NTSH/La Fabrica Naranja).
The music video is set in an uninhabited house in Barcelona, Spain, where Jairo lives. The aesthetics have North American 30s reminiscences. We recall de Great Depression: the clothing, the hairstyle and the gloomy faces. The decadent and desolated environment strengthens the melancholic atmosphere. We could associate the decade of social and individual depression with today’s economic situation and crisis of values. Half way through the video there is a turning point were the different characters give vent to their feelings. They throw their belongings to the air as an act of liberation. An emotional video not exempted of thoroughly meticulous photography and well crafted artwork.
