I really like when a director turns me onto smething amazing made by another director thats the kind of commnity im hoping to see more and more of with the new "submit" feature on Videostatic.com. Try it. Youll like it.
Another thing I like is when that director let's me reprint our conversation, rather than have to write something fresh.
Robert Schober: Friend of mine just signed this band in the US, but the video really caught my eye. Have you seen it?
Steve Gottlieb: Wow. This is amazing!
RS: Yeah! I was really impressed by it... Couldnt believe how few times it had been seen given the scale.
SG: For sure. I like how it starts with "ok, one take" and then it transitions to the dock... And you realize that scene is backwards. And then it's like scene within scene like an MC Escher drawing.
RS: Totally. I mean, I was sold on the video by the time the camera starts following the couple down the stairs, but when the scene in the junkyard and pool happened, i was like, shut. up.
SG: At some point you want to say, "Guys. You can stop. This is already great. We don't need another set-up." And then it progresses.
