Leighton Meester "Heartstrings" (Stephen Pierce Ringer, dir.)

Leighton Meester - Heartstrings

Film and TV star Leighton Meester dips back into music — maybe you remember her 2009 Robin Thicke collaboration "Somebody To Love" —  with the ethereal "Heartstrings" directed by Stephen Pierce Ringer.

Stephen Pierce Ringer, director: "Leighton came to me with very specific and intriguing images she saw when thinking about 'Heartstrings.' We discussed exploring these within the context of studio camera tests. When looking at old tests from the '30s and '40s, what I liked most were the moments when the take is either about to begin or has just ended but the camera is still rolling. These excess moments are glimpses into their personality, something I wanted to allow people to see with Leighton. She's a very playful and very intelligent woman and it comes through in the footage. It's been wonderful to see how people are connecting with her new music. I was fortunate that my friend Sean Conaty was available to shoot the video. We met at USC and he essentially taught me everything I learned about cinematography while there."
