New video from singer/songwriter Nate Currin for "A Madman and A Poet.” The song and video are performed live at the Jars of Clay studio in Nashville, TN by Nate Currin and Matt Nelson (cello). Song produced and engineered by Matthew Odmark. Videography by Jeff Wyatt Wilson.
"I grew up playing music (piano first, then guitar and other instruments later), but did not write lyrics in those early days. In the late 90's a took a backpacking trip through Europe and close to the end of my trip I hiked a mountain in Snowdonia (Wales) called Cader Idris, a 3,000 ft. peak shrouded in mystery and folklore. There is a legend that if you spend the night on the slopes of Cader Idris you awake either a madman or a poet. I hiked the mountain and later slept on the peaks of Cader (after getting trapped in the fog), only to awake and write my first lyrics just a short time after. ‘A Madman and A Poet' is based on that experience and the after.” — Nate Currin
