Wasuremono "Holy Now" (Junaid Faiz, dir.)

HOLY NOW - Wasuremono 忘れ物 - Something Left Behind

An animated music video for the song Holy Now by Wasuremono.

I tried to create something that had a fun visual style but also tell a compelling story about representation and the interconnectivity of overlooked communities in the world, and to try to celebrate the potential heroes that are contained from diverse mythologies. While researching these communities I was consistently surprised by how little is on the internet that represents them, let alone in popular entertainment.

Inspired by the spotlight on Afrofuturism in the current zeitgeist I wanted to explore other cultures whose history was changed forever by the events of colonialism and to try to imagine a world had these cultures been allowed to flourish, fail, learn, evolve and prosper.

On other days a four piece Indie, Krautrock, Dream-pop band from Bradford-on-Avon, South West England.

Formed in 2013 by lead singer William Southward through his love of producing and recording cinematic soundscapes.

Their debut album ‘Something Left Behind’ and last EP ‘Kaboom’, have been championed by the likes of BBC6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and Lauren Laverne, with songs featured heavily on the 6 music playlists, recommend shows and ‘best of 2017’.

Their ever developing show incorporates intricate guitar styles and soundscapes, four part harmonies, rythmic drums and synths.

The band were recently invited to do a live session at Maida Vale which aired on Steve Lamacqs show on BBC 6 Music this year.
