Microsoft unveiled the new Windows Media Player 11 and a preview of the MTV Networks digital music service Urge at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Urge will offer a catalog of over 2 million songs that can be purchased or listened to through subscription plans, in addition to streaming radio stations, feature stories, music videos and much more. Music from Urge will be compatible with the Xbox 360 and all other portable and home devices that support Windows Media.
Urge will of course be cross-promoted on all MTV Channels and will also be integrated into their main web portals MTV.com, VH1.com and CMT.com. Look for Urge to be introduced when Windows Media Player 11 launches later this year.
