Everyone's favorite director of gorgeous-yet-inevitable doom, Mark Romanek, is apparenetly leaving Disney's re-boot of the Cinderella fairy tale over 'differing views on how to tell the story.' While Romanek (possessor of the world's most minimal website) has done some relatively light and fun music videos - Macy Gray, No Doubt and En Vogue - he is probably more well known for the grit and danger of work like Nine Inch Nails and Johnny Cash's devastating 'Hurt.'
Maybe Romanek will have time to direct some more music videos now that this deal at Disney seems to have unraveled. Perhaps the Cinderella producers finally got around to watching his Fiona Apple clip.
