The fact that "Darling Dear" is essentially a jangly rewrite of the Velvet Underground classic "Heroin" — it even starts off with that same lethargic "I" that Lou Reed used to launch his propulsive ode to nodding off — is a plus in my book. After all, there's easier ways to get a hit than copping from a decidedly noncommercial 40+ year old song. (And yes, that sentence has two dopey (no pun intended) drug references). Director Manny Marquez captures the propulsive qualities of the track with this b&w ode mash-up of French New Wave and A Hard Days Night, letting Little Fish singer Juju break the fourth wall and kick some bloody ass all over town. --> watch "Darling Dear"
