WATCH IT: Walk The Moon "Tightrope" (Ari Costa, dir.)

The homegrown "let's put on a show" vibe of Walk The Moon's breakthrough "Anna Sun" continues in this new video, but on an even bigger scale. Director Ari Costa plunks the band in the midst of a construction paper forest, faced with an onslaught of unrelenting whimsy.

Ari Costa, director: "It was a real collaboration between myself and the band, to be honest. They have a very strong sense of what they are looking for and my goal was just to bring it to life while also trying to maintain a strong visual presence and fun vibe. The band has a very colorful, energetic, do-it yourself tone about them and really light up the screen; it was all about showing those qualities while putting them in a scene that matches it. There were a few influences for me when conceiving this concept: Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer", George Méliès "A Trip to the Moon", The Lost Boys vibe from "Hook," and the DIY feel of the bird costumes from "Moonrise Kingdom." The bands friends were all included in the video, so there was a familiarity already there with most people that helped immensely."
