Rik Cordero, director: The blaxploitation genre has been parodied relentlessly over the decades so it was important for me to not only watch key films (Superfly, Black Ceasar, Bucktown, Hell Up In Harlem, Velvet Smooth) but also to create a narrative script treatment that followed a traditional three act structure. I felt it would make it easier to create an actual movie trailer and we would be able take snippets from those acts to show the progression of the character and make it feel like a legit attempt at a low budget movie rather than just a parody.
Director Rik Cordero conjured up a hip-hop version of The Hangover during a video shoot at NYC's Night Hotel for Slaughterhouse, a rap supergroup consisting of Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9", Crooked I and (pictured below, hard at work on-set) Joell Ortiz.

Hip Hop group The Roots sample the sounds of go-go on
"Rising Up," the new single from their tenth album, Rising Down. The
percussive-heavy sound commonly associated with the go-go genre is smoothed
out with synths and the voice of R&B chanteuse Chrisette Michele, while Black Thought and Washington, D.C.-based rapper Wale keep it
