WATCH IT (Again): Kanye "Power" - Marco Brambilla directors cut

I've already said all I think I can say about Kanye West "Power" — unless you're interested in a really rudimentary discussion of the Sword Of Damocles and the other classical symbology in this video portrait — so I'll just point out the differences between this director's cut and the official TV version. The big addition is the inclusion of stuff you can't air on TV — nudity, curses — but this version has some more interesting changes, especially when you consider the different intents of a purely artistic piece vs something that had to serve certain commercial interests (as almost all music videos do). Director Marco Brambilla loses the more rhythmic elements in favor of a graceful and even more gradual tempo for the video's reveal,  while also losing all the pan/scan/zoom/isolation effects that occur in the last third of the official version. As such, the actual running time is even shorter here, with the title card dramatically appearing as the song keeps playing. (Shorter? More nudity? Hmm. Maybe a marketing exec was involved...) --> watch "Power" (directors cut)
