WATCH IT: Mariah Carey "Oh Santa" (Ethan Lader, dir.)

A Mariah Carey Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall is not so far-fetched, especially when you consider that the "Lollipop Bling" fragrance collection that sponsors this video is an actual Carey-endorsed product. "Oh Santa" is presented like an old-fashioned stage performance, complete with a retro film grade that makes it feel like a xmas tradition as old as regifting the inedible fruitcake. --> watch "Oh Santa!"

WATCH IT: Bruno Mars "Just The Way You Are" (Ethan Lader, dir.)

Old school = Cassettes and Walkmen. But not any Walkman. Make it a bright yellow Sony Sports Walkman. And the cassette should be a mixtape that you personally made for your significant other. And you should pull the magnetic tape out of the cassette and let it unfurl into animated depictions of you and your lover. That's exactly how Bruno Mars does it in this video inspired by the artwork of Erika Iris Simmons  — it's a similar vibe to what director Ethan Lader did in the "Nothin On You" video that introduced Bruno Mars, but works just as well here as it did there.

WATCH IT: Dev "Booty Bounce" (Ethan Lader, dir.)

Fashions change fast, but not as fast as they do in this precision-driven clip directed by Ethan Lader. Electro newcomer Dev and several duplicates appear and then disappear with alternating outfits in an edit that accentuates nearly every key beat of the song. --> watch "Booty Bounce"

WATCH IT: Jason Derulo "What If" (Ethan Lader, dir.)

What if Jason Derulo could turn back time and save his fiancee from getting run over by a distracted driver? Would he still do it, even if it meant that the hands kept spinning counter-clockwise, thereby erasing their entire relationship? That's how director Ethan Lader takes what could have been a mere Superhero Soap Opera trifle into something a little more philosophic (for a pop video, at least). --> watch "What If"

WATCH IT: Christian TV "When She Turns 18" (Ethan Lader, dir.)

Pop newcomer Christian TV and his underage galpal document their love via an office copier in this adventurous video for "When She Turns 18". The two perform and get entangled with each other on the copier glass as the light bar scans back and forth, producing a steady stream of copies that provide an animated version of the action. While it's unclear if their efforts convince her office drone dad that their love is undeniable, it does create quite a stir and proves that a Xerox machine can be used for more than a  "photocopy your ass" gag.--> watch "When She Turns 18"
