Final Cut London

Wretch 32 "Whistle" (Joao Retorta, dir.)

João Retorta, director: "There’s a quite playful and repetitive feel to the instrumental of ‘Whistle’ that I wanted to replicate with these visuals. I wanted to create a video that kept going back whilst moving forward. A playful depiction of an house party, an element that came attached to the brief, where we see our artists amidst a crowd and our camera moving in a quite mechanical manner, gradually loosening up. and aint that what house parties at all about? that same walk from the couch to the fridge, whilst the night turns into day."

Foxes "Cruel" (Olof Lindh, dir.)

B-Reel Films had so much fun creating this video for ‘Cruel’ with the wonderful Foxes. Shot on location in a colourful country house in the UK, the video follows her humming, singing and dancing her way around her home – something we can all relate to! Olof mixes moments of emotion with a whimsical air, and the quirky, retro glow of the video totally resounds with Foxes’ unique style.

Birdy "Wild Horses" (Francis Wallis, dir.)

Francis Wallis has directed this dreamy, fantastical underwater vision for Birdy's Wild Horses, which sees the singer transformed into an ethereal mermaid who encounters a deep sea diver.

It's a lovely performance video with gorgeously crafted costumes, fabulous underwater photography, and at its heart, there's this tragic tale of a love that wasn't meant to be...

Phlake "Pregnant" (SASHINSKI, dir.)

An impressively cinematic clip for Danish band Phlake, shot in Cape Town by Sashinski for their song Pregnant, starts with the tension of a bank robbery, and then flashes back to the same man behind the motorcycle helmet, working as a cook at a diner, then meeting and falling for a newly-employed waitress.

After a steamy romance, the pair move in together and the waitress falls pregnant, and the pressures begin - especially as it coincides with him being laid off work. Which then brings us back to the bank robbery which starts the video...

Tiggs Da Author "Run" (Craig Moore, dir.)

Craig Moore follows up his superb rollerskating extravaganza in Sigala's Sweet Lovin' with an equally trick-heavy spectacle for Tiggs Da Author's Run, featuring singer Lady Leshurr.

This time - instead of staging contortionist feats, rollerskating pirouettes and BMX tricks - Moore captures the awesome, ridiculously risky world of South Africa's car spinning stuntmen. There's some really breathtaking tricks performed here.

Ben Khan "1000" (Yoni Lappin, dir.)

For those waiting (so far in vain) for a Twin Peaks reboot, this Red Room homage might hold you over...

Yoni Lappin, director: "Ben came to me with an idea about being at the mercy of a woman controlling him in his dreams. We both loved and connected to the Red Room scene from Twin Peaks as a visual reference for his dream world and used this as a starting point. From there, we carried on discussing ideas back and forth and adding layers. Although it may come across as random, nothing is in there for no reason; Ben actually writes his lyrics on that type writer (although we did spray paint it green for the video) and that's Ben's cat in there too. I hope people keep watching it and picking up on the little things."

Hero Fisher "Punk" (Ciaran Lyons, dir.)

From the Director:

"The aim was for the video to show two very distinct depictions of Hero and the band. It was about acknowledging that they are simultaneously performers, and just a bunch of friends who play music together.

So one section of the video is very stylised and theatrical, and the other section is as natural and raw as possible. Once we started pushing this concept a bit further, we ended up experimenting with different filming equipment and techniques. It was a really playful process."

London Grammar "Strong" (Sam Brown, dir.)

Don’t bother with the spell check coz Sam Brown is back with his first music video since the Grammy winning 'Rolling in the Deep' for Adele (418m views and counting). ‘Strong’ is the second single from the hugely acclaimed London Grammar who craft the kind of soul drenched, intimate angst laden pop music designed to lift your heart and remind you why you loved music in the first place.

Maya Jane Coles "Everything" (Thomas Knights, dir.)

Maya Jane Coles Feat. Karin Park - "Everything" (Official Video)

Looking for a new use for your old darkroom? How about using it as a taxidermy studio? And if you're lucky, maybe you'll also be able to magically connect as happens in this video, where a crow dissection leads to the woman who appears in the photo prints.
