Open Mike Eagle "Ziggy Starfish" (Kris Merc, dir.)

I think parties are strange places, and when me and Natalie Garcia heard the song, something about how alien a party can be and all the stories that emerge in that setting struck a cord. The lyrics and beat really gave us a haunting vibe, that stuck creatively. We didn't shy away from that vibe as the song really resonated and lingered in that way with us. We focused on a story about isolation and lost moments. In one night you can fall for someone and in that same night lose them.

The Peach Kings "Mojo Thunder" (Kris Merc & Benjy Brooke, dir.)

A handmade take on Film Noir created with chalk, black cardboard, pencils and white crayons — all animated in Photoshop. Visually we're talking a mix of stripper girls, santeria, a hound from hell and drowning all those bad vibes in drink.

PS: If drawing of a naked woman will get you in trouble you should consider this NSFW. And look for a new job.

De La Soul "Get Away" (Lenny Bass, Kris Merc, dir.)

DE LA SOUL GET AWAY Feat. The Spirit of The Wu

The Rubik's Cube might have been a fad, but damned if that wasn't a timeless, unique design. Likewise, The Daisy Age as a dominant movement was shortlived, but those early De La Soul albums still sound as good now as they did back in the day. And both "fads" deserve to be revisited, especially De La who are celebrating their 25th anniversary.
