I think parties are strange places, and when me and Natalie Garcia heard the song, something about how alien a party can be and all the stories that emerge in that setting struck a cord. The lyrics and beat really gave us a haunting vibe, that stuck creatively. We didn't shy away from that vibe as the song really resonated and lingered in that way with us. We focused on a story about isolation and lost moments. In one night you can fall for someone and in that same night lose them. We pictured Open Mike Eagle more like a narrator, and we wanted to capture that feeling of finding someone new, but also how fleeting that can be in a moment. Something about love and lost colliding just seemed exciting visually. We used a seamless camera move that transitions from vignette to vignette in a smooth way to transport the viewers into the party, letting the viewer witness one small story in the midst of it all. It helped cement the feeling of being lost but excited all the same.
