GHOSTPOET "Cold Win" (Cyrille De Vignemont, dir.)

Ghostpoet - Cold Win

Two years on from the release of his Mercury nominated debut, ‘Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam’, Ghostpoet aka Obaro Ejimiwe releases ‘Cold Win’ - the second single from his new album ‘Some Say I So I Say Light’ which came out May 2013 through Play It Again Sam.

The video for ‘Cold Win’, which was shot at dawn on the roads of Iceland and in a house designed by the architect Alvar Aalto, unfolds a hypnotic universe, utilizing images of wide open roads and endless landscapes.  Directed by Cyrille de Vignemont, Ghostpoet is featured as a character unwilling to hit the road and to leave his life behind.  Raindrops come together to form hobo symbols, a series of characters used by the rootless vagabonds who appeared in the USA at the beginning of the 20th century to communicate below the radar of civilized society.  Guided by a sensorial narrative, an atmospheric mood gradually develops in the middle of those infinite landscapes, beautifully complimenting the song.
