WATCH IT: Ne-Yo "Champagne Life" "Beautiful Monster" (Wayne Isham, dir.)

Ne-Yo enters the Smooth Criminal phase with this twofer off new album Libra Scale. Presented as two separate, but connected videos, "Champagne Life" and "Beautiful Monster" portray the singer as the leader of a crime fighting gang. And he may, or may not have supernatural powers. Eight minute versions of each video debuted last week on BET 106 & Park — surely a sign that he does indeed have superpowers — while only shortened versions are available through VEVO. --> watch "Champagne Life" and "Beautiful Monster"

DIVERSION: This Video Needs To Be Amazing

Tweeted this over the weekend — Do you follow @Videostatic? — and now it's blowing up. Coincidence? Most likely. Well deserved? Indeed.

Behold, an insiders look at the music video production process courtesy of 30Frames.

WATCH IT: Rey Pila "No Longer Fun"

What's the point of going on if it's no longer fun? Such is the case in sad/sick/twisted, yet also strange and beautiful video for Mexican alterna-artist Rey Pila, which has the vibe of a more gonzo Harold & Maude. The theme seems to be that death is even more boring than life, with suicide victims repeating their acts in hopes of yet another change to their plane of existence. NOTE: Not recommended viewing for anybody squeamish about explicit suicide scenes. --> watch "No Longer Fun"

WATCH IT: N.A.S.A. "Strange Enough" (Lorna T + Studio Giblets, dir.)

N.A.S.A. co-founder Sam Spiegel aka Squeak E. Clean described this all-animated trip as "a Dante's Inferno of Brazilian art which fits the song perfectly". Indeed. A fine match for "Strange Enough", an aptly titled jam that features vocals by ODB, Karen O and Fat Lip. --> "Strange Enough"

WATCH IT: New Found Glory "Truck Stop Blues" (Matthew Stawski, dir.)

The touring life is Loony Tunes for New Found Glory, both in terms of the Serge Gay Jr cartoon drawings that director Matthew Stawski peppers throughout this video and for the band's mental state as they attempt to refuel themselves at a truck stop. --> watch "Truck Stop Blues
