Watsky "Kill a Hipster" (Jackson Adams and George Watsky, dir.)

Zombies haven't been this hip since Michael Jackson "Thriller," so there's a certain irony that underground (for now) rapper Watsky uses that motif to poke fun at hipsters in this bloody video. And, with all forms of organ meat getting street food cred among the cool kids, it's probably only a matter of time before brains hit the menu too.

20th Anniversary of 'Heart Shaped Box' with director Anton Corbijn

Over on The Daily Beast, they have an interview with director Anton Corbijn discussing the process of creating the amazing clip for 'Heart Shaped Box.' Hard to believe it's been 20 years, but Corbijn still recalls that Cobain's ideas (shared via fax machine!) were exactly what the iconic song needed.

Anton Corbijn:

Writing, drawings, both. Kurt drew out images for the video. He would fax them to me. But of course, fax paper… anything written on it disappears after a few years, so I have nothing left.

Generally, the ideas for videos are mine, with sometimes an idea from a singer or a band worked into it. But usually the ideas are sparked off by me listening to a song. I tend to need a long time. I need to play the song 20 or 30 times in a row while I do exercise or sit in the bath; these are places where I always get ideas. But Kurt's ideas came fully formed, along with the song. Kurt was so incredibly detailed in his ideas, and they were so good, that of course I went with those. I would say that I contributed, idea-wise, maybe 15 percent.

The Daily Beast piece is definitely worth a read, including how Courtney suggested the director to the band and the difficulty of casting an old man that looks like an old man when you're in Los Angeles.

Fiona Apple "Pure Imagination" for Chipotle

Chipotle has pulled this trick off before, but it's a good one.

The recipe is easy:

1 part great singer and song stylist  + 1 part great song that you would associate with the singer + 1 part noble cause + 1 part computer animated video.

So, if you enjoyed Willie Nelson conquering Coldplay's "The Scientist," you should have a similarly good time with Fiona Apple's take on the Willie Wonka tune, "Pure Imagination" — all the while thinking a teensy bit about your food choices (and burritos).

Miley Cyrus "Wrecking Ball" (Nicolas Cage Edition)

Miley Cyrus "Wrecking Ball" is already halfway to the goal of 150 million views — at which point she will unveil the director's cut, which may or may not be code for "with nipples".

Whatever it is, I doubt it can top the genius of the new Nicolas Cage Edition of the video which is better seen than described.

PS: This could lead to a Face Off 2 idea in Hollywood.
