A hip-hoperatic retelling of pilot Chesley Sullenberger's successful crash landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River. It's the Miracle of The Hudson meets Swan Lake...
There's the Vegas nightlife you know love/loathe: Bright lights, high rollers, beautiful women and money ruling everything/everytone. But, then sun comes up and we see beyond The Strip, where we see other people playing their luck.
Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus too hot for daytime TV? In France, no less?
Say hello to the weirdest news of the year so far — ok, maybe second place to author Cormac McCarthy's ex-wife who pulled a gun out of her vagina after a heated debate about ETs with a boyfriend — where the the proud land of Serge Gainesbourg has decreed some fairly tame, and hugely popular content as being too explicit.
The Thief. The Good Lady. The Quarterback. The Girl. What are each of these people running from? Damned if I know. Whatever it is, doesn't look like they escaped at the end. Draw your own conclusions for this obscure clip for Wild Beasts, directed by NYSU (they're from Spain, not the Empire State).
Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale looks to make the jump to a country/pop career just fine with this easy/breezy video directed by Phil Andelman in the great wide open.
1950s style meets 2010s attitude in King Krule's latest, an ode to Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder. Don't know the exact meaning of what a "lizard state" is, but maybe it involves seeing things from a different angle.
Director Joseph Kahn calls it one of his best videos, but notes that he's referring to the "unseen" version before correcting himself, rechristening it the "never to be seen" version.
He's referring to the Director's Cut of Britney Spears "Perfume," an unreleased version of the video that generated a whole lot of intrigue and interest online, including even a petition for its release.
It was an unavoidable topic when Kahn and I recently connected to talk about his career and music videos in general. And although he's know to be outspoken and iconoclastic — how many other directors would have the sack to publicly declare that his cut of "Perfume" is not only the better video, but his best video ever? — he's also rarely full of shit. And the Director's Cut of "Perfume" is indeed the kind of video that would have generated way more talk and controversy than the skirmish we've seen over whether the "Director's Cut" would be released or not. Trust me. Or, rather, trust Joseph Kahn.

You know those videos from that Phillippine prison where all the inmates are dancing? That vibe permeates in this obscure clip from Disclosure, which adds a little voodoo into the mix. Moral: no matter where you are, never incarcerate the Witchcraft Princess.
Kinda appropriate that this is released early in the new year since the theme here is getting out of a bland state of ennui and adding some color to one's life. And probably giving the dry cleaner and Molly Maid some extra business. This is Foxes' latest video from her soon-to-be-released debut LP, Glorious.
Why make a video when you could instead create a platform for fans to create their own videos out of nearly any video currently on YouTube and the Avicii song of your choice, thereby creating infinite videos without needing to shoot a single frame.
Do a search for your preferred video imagery (funny dogs, for example)
Create your mash-up, using the Avicii song of your choice and using the site's online editor to pick sync points and nudge things into perfect position
The Pizza Underground is as divisive as Hawaiian Pizza. Either you think it's genius or an abomination. The schtick has Tambourine man Macaulay Culkin and friends recasting various Velvet Underground and Lou Reed songs into shambling odes to pizza. It's all pretty lo-fi and off-the-cuff and harmless fun, but mostly because Lou isn't around to fucking harm them.
How's this for dedication: UK teenager Matt Perren spent three years making this Queen lipdub video, taking one photo every day from January 1, 2011 through January 1, 2014.
