This teaser for the upcoming Runaways biopic rocks for many reasons...
- The movie is directed by Floria Sigismondi, visionary music video director whose work ranges from her career-defining clip for Marilyn Manson "The Beautiful People" to music videos for The White Stripes, Muse, Incubus, Fiona Apple and many others. If anyone can be trusted to deliver something more than a basic "chicks who rock" flick, it's Floria, who has more visual daring than most of the guys in the biz.
- Twilight star Kristin Stewart as Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Runaways singer Cherie Currie is inspired, yet unexpected.
- The MTV Exclusive trailer has a 720p HD viewing option, the first time I've seen such a hi-res option via MTV.com.
Floria Sigismondi is signed with Symphony 19 and repped by Labuda Management for U.S. music videos...
The Runaways will premiere at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, with an official theatrical release in Spring '10...
