25 Strong: The BET Silver Anniversary Celebration. is being taped tonight, October 26, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and will air on BET on November 1. Scheduled to perform and/or appear at the fete are such stars as Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah, Earth Wind & Fire, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, R. Kelly, Snoop Dogg, LL Cool J and Nelly.

BET will host a telethon on Thursday, September 9 to benefit those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Kicking off at 7:30pm EST, the program will be hosted by Russell Simmons and will feature many musicians and celebrities with ties to the New Orleans area, including Wynton Marsalis, Master P and David Banner.

BET's partners for the event include the American Red Cross, the National Urban League, Russell Simmons’ Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, Kevin Liles, the Warner Music Group, and Essence Communication.
