Here's a cute clip from Ben & Julia — who delighted us in 2012 with a bottle-poppin' pekingnese — that should resonate with, if not nauseate anyone who cannot bear another day of leftovers.
Moones are marooned on an iceberg, with nothing to do but rock the time away while sending out some SOS calls. Everything goes wrong — frostbite, spontaneous combustion, a sharpshooting lynx — but director Peter Sluszka depicts everything in a flurry of creative, lo-fi energy that being stranded seems like a fun option. Be sure to watch the Making Of, which is as fun as the video itself. --> watch "Better Energy"

Fuck war. Let's dance. That's basically the message in this colorful animated clip for the Los Campesinos track "We Throw Parties, You Throw Knives" that manages to incorporate the aggression of battle with the sheer abandon of disco dancing. So, there you have it. War is fun. Call your local recruiter. --> watch "We Throw Parties, You Throw Thives"
Peter Sluszka is recognized as one of the best stop-motion animators in the biz. Working alongside such directors as Michel Gondry, Lauri Faggioni and Adria Petty, Sluszka has brought some very outlandish ideas to life.
Video Static is very pleased to present a commentary by director Monkmus about his Death Cab For Cutie video, "I Will Follow You Into The Dark." Produced for the band's ambitious Directions project — which called for the creation of low budget, non-traditional videos for every song off of their album Plans.
Three web videos are currently in production for singer/songwriter Regina Spektor:
Adria Petty is directing "Fidelity" through her own Adria Petty Design. Petty directed "Us" and several other pieces in support of Spektor's last album, Soviet Kitsch.
Peter Sluszka is directing "Samson," which is being co-produced
through Hornet and Adria Petty Design. Sluszka was the animation director for Spektor's "Us."
Matt Lenski is directing "On The Radio." Lenski is signed with Rockhard Films and represented by Robin Frank Management.
Look for this web trilogy to debut in anticipation of Regina Spektor's upcoming Sire/Warner Bros. album, Begin To Hope.
As Passover winds to a close, I hope all of you caught VH1 Classic's Matzo & Metal. Besides retelling the story of the Jews exodus from Pharaoh's land in its own unique fashion with Popsicle stick characters, the special also featured a Seder with a variety of Jewish metal icons. Among the attendees were Anthrax's Scott Ian, Twisted Sister's J.J. French and Mountain's Leslie West. The host was Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider (who is only half-Jewish, for the record) and the show was sponsored by the kosher winery Manischewitz.
