NEWS: 2008 MVPA Winners

The Music Video Production Association (MVPA) used a December holiday party to officially announce the winners of their 17th Annual Awards Show.

Nominees were originally announced in May — hence the fact that all of the winning below are over six months old —  but the planned awards ceremony was delayed and then eventually scaled back to a party/announcement event.

Winners as follows, with awards given to the director and production companies, or to the appropriate technician...

NEWS: Subterranaen/Paste Top 10 Videos of 2008

MTV2’s underground music show Subterranean and the tastemaking music magazine Paste have teamed up to reveal the best indie rock videos of the year.

Tune into Subterranean Thursday, December 11 @ 1am for an inside look with the Subterranean/Paste team at their Top Ten. The December 18 episode will then unveil a Top Ten list as voted on by Subterranean and Paste viewers and readers. Got it?

NEWS: Music Choice Most Demanded Nominees

Leading Video On Demand channel Music Choice announced the categories and nominees for MOST DEMANDED - The Music Choice Video On Demand Awards, the first-ever Video On Demand awards show.

Most Demanded doles out music video awards as determined by Music Choice viewers: Each of the projected one billion orders for music videos or Originals in 2008 was counted as a vote to determine the Most Demanded award nominees in each of the twenty categories.

A full list of awards is below (or after the jump) with the show scheduled to be available December 1 through the end of the year as a multi-part special. Music Choice VOD is carried by the leading cable companies (Comcast Cable Communications, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable), so consult your local listings.

MTV ALERT: mtvU Woodie Broadcast Tonight

The mtvU Woodie Awards isn't just a good excuse to make an erectile pun, it's also the award show with the best music (so long as yr inclinations veer toward the college rock sorta thing).

The 2008 show makes its broadcast premiere tonight, November 19, at 8pm on mtvU and mtvU.com. And, if you have the MTV Networks Palladia network, you can watch the simulcast in HD at 8pm as well.
